This year’s Model Show will feature approximately 30 layouts and 12 traders, and will take place in the Secondary School in Bala (Ysgol Godre’r Berwyn) between 10.00 and 16.00 on the above days. Please note that only registered assistance dogs will be allowed in the School (if we fail to obey the School Authorities on this, we will not be able to hold the Show there again).
We are short of volunteers, not only for when the Show is open, but particularly for setting up the venue on the Friday afternoon and evening. If you can spare a few hours to help, please get in touch with the Secretary (who is also the Show Organiser). You’ll have full access to the Show for free and you’ll also be able to travel, again for free, on the Exhibitors’ Special Train on the Saturday Evening. This is followed by a modestly-priced barbecue which is always good fun (and Dan’s cooking hasn’t poisoned anyone yet!).
You can also help by coming to the Show as a visitor (members get half-price admission) or just by spreading the word about the Show – if you’d like some publicity leaflets to circulate where you live (at a local model club or event, perhaps), please contact the Secretary.
Members get half-price admission to the Show BUT I am pleased also to announce a small competition. The first five members to contact the Secretary will get free admission to the Show, one person admitted for free per membership number. These free tickets will only be issued to people who get in touch with the Secretary directly – you can’t apply on behalf of another member and free tickets will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you send the Secretary a message via a third party, you might be too late. Members who hold elected positions within the Society are not eligible for the competition. The free admission will be for one day only and each person claiming the free ticket must be a member of the Society at the time of application and at the time of the Show. The deadline for applications for free tickets is midnight (Llanuwchllyn time) on Wednesday 18th September 2024.
